Hello! I am Anna Hanrahan. I have been teaching at Heyworth Elementary since 2001.  I spent many years teaching 3rd grade, until I switched to the STEAM/Enrichment position during the 2018-19 school year. I received my BA in Elementary Education from Illinois State University in 2001, and my master's degree in Reading from Illinois State University in 2005. I received my Gifted Certification in 2015. I've taken about a million classes in between all of that, but my most recent training involves attending as many technology conferences and events as I possibly can and immersing myself in the online STEM communities for inspiration. I try hard to incorporate my love and background in reading into most of my lessons, as I feel that incorporating literature increases the value of most any lesson or opportunity.   I can say with 100% certainty that I learn something new every day (usually, many things!), and there is nothing else I would rather be doing as a career.
